Ryan Roikola | Principal Bassoon

Ryan Roikola is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator based in Washington, DC. Originally from Montvale, New Jersey, Ryan is an active performer in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. He holds several substitute positions with various orchestras in Virginia and North Carolina, the Principal Bassoon Position with the Capital Wind Symphony, and you can find him and his group, Neglected Electric, performing video game music in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

He received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Lynchburg College and a Master’s in Music Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA). Ryan has studied with Suzanne Pattison, Saxton Rose, and Michael Harley.
